Art & Environment: Event Zero – June 22, 2019, Città dell’Altra Economia, Rome

At the “Città dell’Altra Economia” artists, musicians and social theatre actors have exhibited and performed on the specific topic of the divestment from fossil fuels, with the major partner “The Climate Reality Project”, together with 350.org, Forum Terzo Settore Lazio, Italian Climate Network and Gruppo JOBEL.

Artists Anna Maria Angelucci, Cristina Pennacchi, Laura Gherardi, and Simonetta Imperiali presented immersive installations exploring environmental crises, human impact, and the urgency of sustainable action. Giulio Vanzan engaged the audience through social theatre and interactive workshops, fostering reflection and dialogue. Music by Angelo Cascarano underscored the fragility and beauty of our planet.

The event demonstrated that performing arts can communicate environmental urgency more effectively than scientific papers, involving participants emotionally and encouraging collective reflection.

Event Zero embodied the Hearth project’s mission: using art to tell environmental stories, engage citizens, and inspire action toward a sustainable, more human future.
